BEDTIME STORY: Frog & Toad Together, by Arnold Lobel
“Frog and Toad are best friends — they do everything together. When Toad admires the flowers in Frog’s garden, Frog gives him seeds to grow a garden of his own. When Toad bakes cookies, Frog helps him eat them. And when both Frog and Toad are scared, they are brave together. From the first enchanting story to the last, these five adventures of two best friends are filled with humor and tender affection.” -goodreads.com
Friendship is the theme in this book. Have your child pick a friend in his or her life. Draw a picture of that friend independently or together. Choose 3 descriptive words to describe his or her friend . Write those words on the page. What is sound of the first letter in each of those words? Then talk about or write down ways to be a good friend. This activity can be done verbally or on paper. It’s up to you and what your child is ready for.
