Notice the 4 seasons represented in the book. What do you notice about each season? Is there rain, snow, or sun? Are the plants green or brown? Are there leaves? Talk about how the seasons look different and why. Create a grid and label each quadrant winter, spring, summer and fall. Draw pictures and use words to describe and visualize each of the four seasons. Talk about which one is your favorite and what activities and traditions make you look forward to each season. Remember that your child is always picking up on the rich language you use when talking to him or her. Discuss environmental themes in simple terms.
